A. Lange & Söhne @ “Unique by Tradition” Exhibition in Hong Kong

A. Lange & Söhne  joined hands with Elegant Watch and Jewellery held an “Unique by Tradition” Exhibition in Hong Kong ifc mall recently showcasing the German brand’s latest creations, its five celebrated product families as well as historical pocket watches, and provided a comprehensive experience on A. Lange & Söhne’s history, tradition, innovation and latest developments from the 2013 novelties at the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie in January this year.
The exhibition gathered the five product families of A. Lange & Söhne: LANGE 1, ZEITWERK, SAXONIA, 1815 and RICHARD LANGE, including their latest members such as the GRAND LANGE 1 with a white gold case and black dial , the 1815 UP/DOWN with Lange’s signature UP/DOWN power reserve indication, the 1815 RATTRAPANTE PERPETUAL CALENDAR, a state-of-the-art creation that combines a rat-trapante chronograph, a perpetual calendar, a moon-phase display and a power reserve indicator, among others. The design and creation of these masterpieces are based on in-novation as well as those well-developed standards that were adopted by the Lange man-ufacture since its early days. In this respect, A. Lange & Söhne also presented some of the most coveted Lange pocket watches from the 20th century to clearly express the “Unique by Tradition” philosophy.
Two interactive exhibits, namely “Finish & Decoration” and “Sound of Precision” that made their debut at September’s “Watches & Wonders”, Asia’s first Haute Horlogerie show, acquainted the delighted visitors with A. Lange & Söhne’s preci-sion watchmaking technologies and craftsmanship. On “Finish & Decoration”, seven films, produced explicitly for the installation, showed the traditional finishing and deco-rating techniques practised by A. Lange & Söhne in vivid moving pictures on a touchscreen. Seven original parts viewable under a magnifying glass were assigned to each technique, showing the various types of finishes and engravings. Visitors were also “Unique by Tradition” exhibition in Hong Kong able to feel the decorated surfaces of the parts embedded in textured circular glass panels.
The “Sound of Precision” experience came alive with six timepieces. This module presented ticking and winding sounds as well as various switching vibrations, both visually and acoustically. A screen showed close-ups of the processes, while the sounds were made audible with headphones. To reproduce the delicate reverberations of the watches, the sounds were recorded in an echo chamber with high-end studio equipment. Connoisseurs and people interested in the brand were also able to listen to the sounds of their own watches via an integrated high-sensitivity microphone.
The exhibition “Unique by Tradition” had also invited a skilled craftsman from Glashütte, the home of A. Lange & Söhne to host a live demonstration on various Lange finishing techniques including the flat polishing on different parts of the LANGE ZEITWERK, the in-tricate black polishing technique found on the LANGE ZEITWERK STRIKING TIME and the finishing of the fusée-chain on the RICHARD LANGE TOURBILLON POUR LE MÉRITE, etc., ena-bling an up-close experience for the visitors with the fine traditions established by FerFerdi-nand A. Lange, the legendary founder of A. Lange & Söhne, more than 160 years ago.

GEOX AMPHIBIOX @ FW2013 "We Made It Rain" Digital Ad Campaign

GEOX launched the new Amphibiox FW13 digital campaign recently on amphibiox.geox.com. Last year, GEOX went to the rainiest place on earth to prove the extreme qualities of its waterproof line Amphibiox. The campaign was a blockbuster hit that earned GEOX a Gold Lion award in advertising at the Cannes Film Festival. This season, GEOX evolved the concept opting for a more complex urban environment where a brave tester underwent one of the most extreme and enduring tests for water resistance ever performed.
Through multiple customized devices, GEOX reproduced the adverse conditions required for the test, creating non-stop rain and constant humidity for a week. The test was filmed and turned into an interactive document for the web where everyone will be able to see the tester’s effort and  learn more about the innovative qualities of the Amphibiox shoes.
Amphibiox, a successful technique that grants unprecedented and total waterproof and breathability thanks to a special breathable and water repelling membrane applied to both the outsole and to the shoe’s upper. The Amphibiox  range covers a variety of needs and occasions spanning formal and outdoors, with its wide offer of footwear.
To make the constant rain it was developed three different highly advanced clouds. Each with different specialties and the ability to follow the test subject; A hand held harness, with the flexibility to follow him at all times. A cloud car with special built 400-liter tanks for long distances. And an octocopter specially designed for short-term operation in tight spaces. The devices will be used in various events all across Europe in the time to come.
Amphibiox is the generation of waterproof technology. Not only will it keep your feet dry, but also creates an ideal microclimate for the feet. All around breathability through the patented Geox sole and membrane in the upper makes sure the feet are always ventilated. The waterproof membrane and repelling materials will keep the water out and thus reducing drying times and keeping the shoe lightweight. It offers the best protection from rain, mud and snow, by enabling your feet to stay dry and comfortable, however extreme weather the city throws at you.

Today she runs an internationally successful fashion powerhouse with a string of boutiques worldwide. Her Parisian chic styleis  a mix of bohemia and masculine tailoring  grows in popularity season after season.Isabel Marant will also, for the first time, create a collection for men. “I am flattered by this collaboration: H&M works with the best designers and this invitation is an exciting honour. I aim at creating something real, that women want to wear in their everyday lives, with a certain carelessness, which I think is very Parisian: you dress up, but do not pay too much attention and still look sexy. The collection is infused with this kind of easiness and attitude. Everything can be mixed following one’s own instincts: my take on fashion is all about personality,” says Isabel Marant.

“We are excited to have Isabel Marant as a guest designer at H&M. The way she mixes different elements in her collections, creating a style that is effortless and urban, makes her very contemporary. She has a fantastic eye for ethnic detail and the rare ability to create something that people really want to wear. We are sure the H&M customers will be enthusiastic about this collection,” says Margareta van den Bosch, Creative Advisor at H&M.
