Brioni SS2022 Collection - mylifestylenews Top 10's Pick

Brioni SS2022 Collection offers a reimagining of nonchalant Roman dressing through a versatile wardrobe of effortless silhouettes. New shapes inspire a relaxed approach to life, interwoven with appreciation for the artisanal craftsmanship and fine quality tailoring on which the House heritage is built.

Daywear is all about the understated details, and the sartorial suit returns as the protagonist for day to day with a contemporary reinterpretation, designed to ease the transition from working at home back to a dynamic urban lifestyle.

Design Director Norbert Stumpfl plays with notions of formal and informal tailoring. Shapes are looser, fabrics are even lighter, and hems are relaxed, creating comfort, breathability, and fluidity of movement. A super light 100% linen suit and a cooling seersucker are introduced, and suits are styled with shirts in denim or silk offering a relaxed alternative to formal shirting.

Looks in tonal colors, inspired by workwear attire are reinterpreted in luxurious materials and feature precious details. Leisurewear is offered in exclusive high performance fabrics including ultra-light technical silk and Sea Island cotton.

Outerwear comes in ultra soft nubuck leather and in a sophisticated mix of suede and linen, worn with double layered knitwear crafted from Escorial wool, cashmere and silk blend and sustainable wool. All is offered in a seasonal colour palette of greens, browns, yellows and sky blues.

As part of Brioni’s commitment to sustainability and carrying the spirit of circular fashion, Spring/Summer 2022 also expands on the ‘Circular Upcyling’ capsule, a collection of garments crafted from unconsumed tie silk fabrics from previous collections which are redyed for a brand new use. Each piece is therefore unique.

Slow luxury and the beauty of hand-made is celebrated in statement eveningwear. The Veronese jacket is crafted from a brocade faithfully hand-woven on a late 19th Century Jacquard loom, in a delicate process that takes five months from start to finish. A dinner jacket in faille ombré silk is meticulously dyed by hand using numerous shades of the same colour to create a tonal masterpiece. A summer interpretation of the tuxedo, the ‘Leggera tuxedo’, is created from a near weightless double-splittable linen with super light silk satin details – this jacket is as light as a shirt.

To compliment the look, silver jewelry hammered by hand in Italy, large backpacks in grained calfskin and crocodile, the Arazzo weekender crafted from hand-loomed tapestry, crocodile slides and thong sandals in vegetally tanned leather.

The collection is designed with the practical needs of a modern man in mind, whilst injecting joy and comfort into elegant and sophisticated dressing.

AMBUSH SS2022 Men & Women Collection

AMBUSH SS2022 Men & Women Collection is an escape from the city is an opportunity to heal, play and wonder at nature. Designer Yoon Ahn charts a new map for the brand, which will always have the city and its streets as its nucleus, but now includes the wild and free expanses.

Charting a journey, from the city’s streets and gardens to the wilderness, that rejoices in both the slick, technical styles, and the joyful naivety of connecting with the natural world. With this freedom comes a host of new ideas, and a shift in the way AMBUSH thinks of its collections. AMBUSH WKSP is a new category inspired by technical fabrics, the basics needed for both moving around the city, or the countryside, in comfort.

The serves as a base for the season, with fleece in subdued sand and maroon transposed with deep water blue, solar power yellow, and lavendula, like water in the desert or flowers against the horizon. Graphic designer Hagihara Takuya has designed nature-inspired prints, which play out across T-shirts, hoodies and swimwear for men and women. The menswear sees a looser silhouette, with cargo pants and sweaters at the fore - for women, these are worn with sleek crop tops. With their comfort and ease, these items lend themselves to a hike, either through the mountains or to your workspace.

At the other end of the spectrum, the AMBUSH ARTISANAL explored how couture techniques can be incorporated into the everyday. The high of being surrounded by nature,in hand-looped jersey skirts reminiscent of a flower; feather-like twisted knit wool dresses; and twisted cotton and polyurethane crochet mesh knit with hand appliquéd flowers. Crochet accents in vibrant colours, a dress constructed of a hand sewn beaded landscape on a viscose bade -- this is AMBUSH allowed to explore and fantasise.

Bridging these two wings of the house is the AMBUSH WARDROBE, the core designs of the house. Linens, cotton and knits in washed out pastel colours are mixed with washed nylon, making the wardrobe both comfortable and modern. Tailoring is relaxed and continues the tradition of mixing Japanese details and heritage with Italian silhouette, vintage shapes with the modern, some of the many hybrids at the heart of AMBUSH. Menswear includes both a kimono suit jacket and belted blazer, while for women we see lace up leather vests and cropped twisted tops. In keeping with the earthy theme, colours are slightly sun bleached and more natural - a black is in fact the darkest grey, and whites are inflected with cream and yellow tones.

Amongst this backdrop of the dramatic and subdued, jewelry is colourful and naive, incorporating flowers, hearts, butterflies and mushrooms. This is perhaps where the psychedelic centre of the collection is revealed, with jewelry looking like a living thing as it twists and morphs in handblown glass and bejewelled chain link, like the stems of a futuristic flower.

Accessories, meanwhile, are sleek but without hard lines, in soft leather that marks them as part of this AMBUSH natural world. Lightly gathered
clutches come in an array of colours including solar power yellow, valiant poppy red and blithe blue, as well as neutral black.

Small purses with rounded handles and a curved bottom play out in pastel pink and blue, as well as a trippy snake print that incorporates neon yellow and purple, like a mythical AMBUSH beast. High heeled mules with a twisted leather front come in the palest green lily, while platform boots are in black and white. For both men and women, styles include trekking sandals, rubber boots and leather mix sneakers, for pounding the trail or the sidewalk and geta flip-flops for when the day is over.

As ever, this collection is inspired by YOON’s lived experience - as with many of us, she turned to the areas outside of her city, Tokyo, for release.
The result is an escape both physical and internal -  the freedom of the mind that the designer found in nature, brought back to the city. And ready for the next escape.

Chloé SS2022 Collection - mylifestylenews Top 10's Pick

Chloé SS2022 collection introduces Chloé Craft with the believe in luxury fashion has become overly industrialized, the Maison is expanding the number of their products handcrafted by independent artisans. The house embossed all of these products with a signature spiral symbol.

Chloé Craft seeks to pioneer new levels of traceability and transparency in the industry and establish a deeper connection between consumers and local producers. These techniques cannot be mimicked by machinery, only mastered by the human hand.

While Chloé Craft is innately low impact, the challenge is to find ways of making the items produced in larger quantities more eco-conscious. This season the design of Chloé staples such as our Tote bag, Nama sneakers and denim have been improved to incorporate more recycled and lower impact materials while preserving our highest standard of quality.

The house has worked to limit the environmental impact of their SS2022 collection by increasing the use of lower impact materials (up to 58% of the collection vs 40% in Winter 2021, vs 55% on Spring 2022). The list of what they consider as lower impact materials is available on Chloe.com and was previously approved by external experts. For example, more than 50% of the wool they use is “lower impact”* and they continue to promote the use of deadstock materials for fabrics and embellishments. The wool used in these products comes from a farm that respects animal welfare and maintains soil health, protects biodiversity and promotes native species or from a recycled wool.

Dresses are adorned with metal talismans sourced from dead-stock jewelry findings and components. Stripes are hand-painted on cashmere and voile in various shades of vegetable-based blue dye. Multi-colored up-cycled fabrics leftover from previous collection are shredded, knotted and macramed by hand into new garments. Leather ribbon is whip-stitched by hand around the edges of garments, framing them with a touch of handicraft.

Hand-cut vegetable dyed leather is patchworked into a dynamic composition taken directly from one of Gabriela’s drawings. Another of her drawings comes to life as a series of suede forms floating in a handcrocheted web. Multicolor hand-crocheted scallops cover the surface of a signature winged silhouette knitted dress. Found seashells are hand-woven into necklaces made with dead-stock Chloé fabrics from previous seasons, interspersed with gemstones as described below.

The gemstones found throughout the collection are all naturally sourced. They continue to transition from cotton to linen because its cultivation emits less greenhouse gases and requires significantly less water, making it a lower impact material by nature. Having changed all their linings to linen in previous collections, our Tote bag is remade entirely from linen with the exception of its reinforcements. Recycled materials including cashmere, beads and wool have been combined with straw in a new adaptation of our basket bags.

The house also sustaining their long-term partnership with Mifuko, a WFTO fair-trade guaranteed members on basketweaving. In Swahili “mifuko” means pocket. With fair pay and less dependence on unpredictable farming as a source of income, Mifuko empowers its artisans in Kenya. Celebrating this empowerment, each bag is embossed with the name of the woman who wove it.

“Of all the worn, smudged, dog-eared words in our vocabulary, “love” is surely the grubbiest, smelliest, slimiest. Bawled from a million pulpits, lasciviously crooned through hundreds of millions of loudspeakers, it has become an outrage to good taste and decent feeling, an obscenity which one hesitates to pronounce. And yet it has to be pronounced; for, after all, Love is the last word.” – Aldous Huxley (1894–1963)
“It’s all about Love.” – Gabriela Hearst, Creative Director at Chloé.

VALENTINO LE PROGRES PARIS 3ème ARRONDISSEMENT

Le Progrès is a Parisian café in the Marais, at the intersection of streets teeming with life and activity in a neighborhood that has always been particularly lively. Having survived gentrification and waves of fashionable restylings to remain a meeting place that caters to humans of all walks of life, Le Progrès captures the spirit of the resignification of the Valentino codes in the vision of the Creative Director Pierpaolo Piccioli.

The idea that guides this constantly evolving path is to bring fashion on the street, out of the Atelier while retaining the know-how of the Atelier, to meet with the always unique, always different identity of the wearers. It is a way to root Valentino in the present time, in the belief that personal identity creates aesthetics, and not the other way round.

The collection supports this movement with a modular flow. It is in fact conceived as a series of pieces: timeless items, each one valid on its own, which everyone can then interpret and mix as they prefer, without impositions or rules of any kind.

The shifting of codes in the way they can be used is already built in the design of the single garment, in the fluidity that merges the masculine and the feminine.

Tailoring is reinterpreted in vivid and acrylic colors, in neat and precise lines. Feathers multiply on short or long sparkling dresses, as well as on the hooded sweatshirt. Denim is mixed with lace or broderie anglaise used for short dresses and masculine shirts, or becomes a short cape for men.

The tropes of bourgeois dressing - cardigan-jackets, pleated skirts, long tunic dresses, tunics over trousers, suits - meet a certain street-savviness: tracksuits given a sartorial touch, played up in the contrast of colors; cycling shorts worn with blazers.

Embroideries, no longer a symbol of nighttime preciousness, characterize the fluid coats, peacoats and anoraks. Dryness and romanticism coexist; platforms alternate with flat shoes.

Studs multiply on handbags and sandals, as on the massive soles of men’s lace-ups, while the logo is exploded, miniaturized, explored as a graphic sign, an aggregational pattern, on dresses and bags.

The Valentino identity gets fragmented, merging with the DNA of the individual, creating always different permutations. Multiplicity becomes synonymous with unity and uniqueness. Re-signification and fragmentation coincide, activating evolution.
