ALIANNA LIU AW2019/20 Ready-To-Wear Collection

ALIANNA LIU AW2019/20 Ready-To-Wear Collection has been entirely inspired by an encounter with a jellyfish bloom the time she was surfing, expressing through the prints, color palette, and patterns.

“I’ve always been drawn to the art form of nature.” said the designer about his inspiration for her latest work.“Last summer, I spent most of my time at the beach right before I got the idea about this collection.

One day, the noon-time sun was heating, I was in the middle of the sea, relaxing on the board, away from everything else.

The azure sky was there, upon the calm, green sea. It was almost as perfect as a painting.

Then I saw a jellyfish bloom right beneath me. This transparent little creature was moving around and have tentacles hanging down.

I had this feeling of fear. I know some have tentacles that can stretch 2 meters, and some are as small as a thumbnail. But I can’t keep my eyes from its beautiful movements. ”

The collection is colorful, mature, vivid and feminine. The electric, ungodly alien inspire the motifs of the collection.

Prints were the pictures reminded in dreams, after the experience of the bloom, hand drew by the designer.

“At once these exquisite life forms are elegant and mysterious.”The hand-stitched materials highlight the pieces with swirling patterns in different shades of blue.

QUAN SPA Bangkok Marriott Marquis Queen's Park All Things Good & Pure

Immerse yourself in the tranquility of a sanctuary to soothe, relax and restore your body and mind. Quan Spa at the Bangkok Marriott Marquis Queen’s Park revitalizes your wellbeing with all things good and pure. mylifestylenews writes.

Vacation destinations are sometimes not always about sightseeing, so it is refreshing to occasionally make a point of focusing on wellness in between a busy holiday schedule. The Quan Spa at the Bangkok Marriott Marquis Queen’s Park is an oasis of spa wellness that must not be ignored, for it truly has something special to offer. The name of Quan Spa is no coincidence, as it means ‘spring water’ and represents all things that are good and pure, including health and wellness – after all, water is the source of life! Quan Spa is a luxury day spa that blends the traditions of Thailand with modern therapies to ensure rejuvenation and relaxation.

Quan Spa is an oasis where you can find balance and relaxation. When spa goers hear the selling points of spas being about restoring balance, you quite often get some quizzical looks from friends, wondering what does that mean and to be honest, it can sound a little bit strange to the uninitiated, but we truly believe in the powers of a revitalizing spa for a variety of reasons and why stop at just one note of the spa journey when you can indulge in a 2.5 hour package that truly immerses you into a state of bliss.

For us, spa is all about the ritual and so we opted for something a little more special by choosing the Signature Ritual – the Benja Malee Ancient Flower Remedy. This refined treatment embraces traditional Thai techniques and ingredients over 150 minutes. This refined treatment embraces traditional Thai techniques and ingredients to deliver outstanding results. A natural scrub harnesses “five pollen” flowers to cleanse and refresh the skin, before an aromatic massage combines the four elements to perfectly balance the body and mind. A hot compress of Thai flowers and natural oils then activates internal energy flows to tackle muscle pain and balance circulation throughout the body and we were anticipating a magical few hours of spa bliss.

Our spa journey began with a foot bath ritual, using natural salts and citrus extracts that refreshed our feet in a very soothing way with a sensual touch. This segues into the “Five Pollen” dried flowers scrub which is a remedy to cleanse and refresh the body skin. For those of you that have not booked a cleansing scrub, it really is a panacea for the body, in terms of sloughing off the dead skin cells and ‘polishing’ the skin to leave a very fresh and smooth visage. Your skin feels so much better after this and you will be amazed at the outcome and how young your skin feels again.

The next stage of our ritual journey was the aromatic massage combining the four elements to perfectly balance the body and mind. A massage can come in many different forms, but the key is the pressure that is applied and once we had informed our therapists what we wanted, they just seemed to be instinctive about what level to take it to and it clearly had the right effect when assessing our state of body afterward. Massage therapy is one of the oldest therapeutic remedies known to man. The simple act of human touch has the ability to connect, stimulate, relax and regenerate the body’s natural healing process.

Lastly, there is the Benja Malee Floral Aromatic Compress. This is simply a hot compress of Thai flowers and natural oils that activates internal energy flows to tackle muscle pain and balance circulation throughout the body. As a finale to all that had taken place, this hot compress definitely released energy and had such a soothing effect to the overall experience.

When the ritual had been completed, we were in a heightened state of being due to the restorative effects of all the components. We had had similar packages before elsewhere, but this one really made a difference and the techniques and skills of our therapists are to be admired. This is one of the best spa experiences we have ever had and enables you to rediscover the ancient art of aromatherapy and experience the healing powers of essential oils to help you journey towards total relaxation for the best results.

A place of personal peace and well-being, is an urban haven of rejuvenation and relaxation, as it embraces the fundamentals of vitality, fitness and beauty to achieve balance and good health. Quan Spa embraces the essence of rejuvenation to provide provide a restorative experience to awaken, relax and renew your mind, body and soul. For a journey to renewal, we cannot recommend Quan Spa highly enough.

Patrick Pham AW2019/20 Haute Couture Runway Collection - mylifestylenews Top 10's Pick

Patrick Pham AW2019/20 Haute Couture Runway Collection themed “Pearl of Far East” for Couture dresses from handmade and environmentally friendly materials. Whether it is in Indochine or in L’Amant, “Vien Dong” has been in the heart of France as a love. That loves inspired Patrick Pham. On his trip to the rural weaving villages, the young designer suddenly reminisce the distant memories.

The luggage he brought back is filled masterpieces from the ivory-like hands of artisans from a country that is deeply in love with France. The old French sentiment for the Far East rises up again with another love story. Paris is just like to meet its old friend! Patrick Pham presents 29 Couture dresses from handmade textile materials of Vietnam's most famous weaving villages, along with handmade accessories made by artisans from Hue – the Imperial city of the Nguyen Dynasty of Vietnam.

“Lanh My A” is a silk weaving product dyed from Diospyros Mollis fruit, locally known as “mặc nưa”. “Lanh My A” has been used for costume of the royal families of Cambodia, Laos, and Thailand, or as a luxury gift for only rich families, landlords, and Indo-Chinese wealthy class.

In the hands of Patrick Pham, Lanh My A seems to have been a classy material for luxury suit and soiree dress. The beauty of Lanh My A is dominated right from the care of silkworm cocoon so that each silkworm can pull out the best and healthiest silk threads. Especially, the woven silk is under a very unique dyeing technique. The dyeing process takes nearly 5 months to complete.

Fabric must go through 2 dyeing cycles and sun drying in the wind. This is the secret know-how of the black, leather-like Lanh My A silk. Sadly, it is in danger of being lost. Nowadays, many local people turn to weave other normal fabrics since industrial textiles with high capacity can generate better income. The whole country now has only one artisan family whose have been trying to rebuild and implement this natural secret.

Once upon a time in the history of Vietnam, there had been a beautiful weaver who was chosen to marry to the Prince and become the Queen. People called her Queen Y Lan. Queen Y Lan is one of the most famous and beloved queens with a caring heart for her people. She was honored as the founding ancestor of silk weaving for teaching her people to plant mulberry, raise silkworm, and weave silk. As the tradition goes, every Vietnamese girl grows up knowing how to weave cloth, embroider, and sew.

Fabrics seem to inherit their personalities and destiny from those ivory-like hands. The fabric and silk is indeed a cultural reflection of a multi-ethnic nation. Brocade is a unique product that ethnic minorities in Vietnam pass down from generation to generation in such a way to reflect the characteristics of their culture. Brocade is a fabric made of cotton, linen or hemp yarn, all handwork.

Fabrics are dyed from wild plants with variety of colors: gloomy sometimes, brilliant sometimes. There are patterns on the fabric that uniquely represent each ethnic group. These patterns are embossed during the weaving process, though those appear to be embroidered at first.

Brocade carries in itself the vibe of local live: rustic, but generous and wild. Encountering those characteristics of brocade, Patrick Pham did a bold thing: erasing the cultural boundaries of wild, liberal brocade. Brocade is mixed with other materials such as horse skin and cattle fur.

In the hand of Patrick, Brocade has raised the wild rhythm of a “Tziganes” girl and the sexy look of a “Bohémien” girl. Brocade gets itself out of being a local material to romantically reunite in Paris Patrick Pham creates a wedding dress with new materials : silk from hyacinth flowers. Hyacinth flowers on wedding dress – gentle but elegant.  Accessories from jackfruit wood, which is a cheap material for statue making and construction, suddenly became luxury material for fashionable and colorful handicraft boots.
