《Nina Ricci @ SS2012》

Nina Ricci SS2012 is inspired by the richness of fabrics, colours and prints from the archives. Peter Copping shows an uplifting, feminine and floral collection in the context of the salons of 34 avenue Foch. Loosely interpreting couture styles from the house’s history, Copping furthers his designs in a pictorial manner. White canvas with floral prints wqas embellished and navy blue that is occasionally punctuated with stunning details.

Paying homage to Zina de Plagny, the Russian artist who collaborated with Nina Ricci in the 1930s and 1940s, Copping plays with the graphic elements of her patterns and the texture of her fabrics introducing a new dimension to superimposed classical shapes. The strength of Copping’s creations stems from the wealth of the fabric, the flawless craftsmanship, the perfection of the silhouette and general movement. A contemporary take on the Golden Age of couture.
