MaxMara Fashion Group @ SS2012 Presentation

MaxMara Fashion Group SS12 Press Presentation including Max Mara, Sportmax, Weekend by Max Mara, Max & Co.,iBLUES, Pennyblack, Marella and Marina Rinaldi held at The Space recently. The entrance level of the venue was transformed into a colourful geometric andfloral inspired space with real and oversized lollipops, while the upper levelbecame a summer sports ground, complete with an abstract swimming ‘pool,’ atrack and field ‘stadium’ and prize-giving platforms.
"Reflections on water’ can well describe the theme of the Sportmax SS2012 collection. Cool and feminine, yet with a sporty touch, the focus is on shimmering effects and see-through fabrics. Colours are pure white and pastel shades, with the accent on contrasts and simplicity; Slim, long lines, sexy, elegant, and with originality. The keys for its fabrication and details include open-work leather with shimmering effects, cut-outs, iridescent trims, floating pleats, zips, studs, embroidered lace and original floral prints and projects an ultra-modern mood through a wealth of kaleidoscopic ideas.
The  Max Mara SS2012 collection explores new horizons: pure and  linear, athletic and minimal, tailored and crafted, with shapes taking on an  inventive, futuristic look. Highlights include three-quarter sleeve duster  coats with contrasting leather piping, blouson blazers, tunic dresses paired  with knee-length trousers, and jumpsuits in ribbed jersey. A mix of contrasting material inlays creates interesting effects: techno-cotton and jersey, leather and lurex, doublé fabrics and organza, metal details and micro-studs. Shades are inspired by the colours of the desert: a full range of beige- from the palest shade with golden highlights- to darker tea, as well as turquoise and total black.

In the SS 2012 Collection, gorgeous floral blooms, African tribal visions and dark, sultry denim ensembles colour the palette of Weekend by Max Mara. Max & Co.’s new summer season is all about bright sorbet tones. The collection features a chromatic palette with warm, intense tones of summer fruits and flowers. The theme is expressed through contrasting interpretations. Match duffle coats and parkas with nautical T-shirts, indigo sweatshirts, shorts and sailor pants for an informal touch, or elegantly with uniform-inspired structured pantsuits, and deconstruct with stripy shirts and T-shirts.

The iBlues SS2012 collection speaks to women who love to play with fashion, always experimenting, never overdoing. On top of the list, sophisticated and updated prints: from the Zen garden-inspired flowers to animal prints with fluorescent strokes and geometric patterns in gemstones’ hues. The iBlues Club SS2012 collection focuses on a strong leit motif: eco and sporty. The colors (and fabrics) are natural and neutral: khaki, sand and tobacco are pefect complement to used-denim jackets, powder hue blouse, tie-printed mini dresses.

Eclectic and precious: summer and hyper colors collide in Pennyblack’s SS2012 collection. Emerald green, amethyst purple, yellow topaz: these jewel tones are used as monochrome fields or as color blocks, giving a twist to simple, yet modern silhouettes. Lean, minimal and chic shapes: the tunic dress, the short blazer and tailored pants are the Pennyblack basics. There is also the return of floral prints, stripes, total white and blush-toned lace.

A mix of soft sensuality and relaxed elegance is the theme for Marella’s SS Collection. The starting points are the classics: the suit, the jacket, the trench coat and the jersey dress, all updated with new volumes and materials in super hot colours! The jacket is the quintessential must-have of the season: tailored, lean with black and white details, it is perfect for day & night. The timeless French look moves forward through short blazers in natural hues and textiles with details on the trim.

Inspired  by American fashion of the 1970s, Marina Rinaldi’s SS 2012 collection is all about colour leathers: the jumpsuit, the Seventies  trousers, the suede jacket, total white tones brightened by a touch of  fuchsia, American sport chic and luxury cruises. Imagine  a glamorous American woman on a luxury cruise. The silhouette plays a lead  role through the Seventies trouser suit, and knee-length fuchsia dress.
