《Chloé @ SS2012》

Chloé SS2012 collection with her new creative director clare waight keller showing her debut for the brand with the mood of the chloé girl and discovered a multitude of feminine personalities that define the brand. “i looked at festival girls, girls on the street and david bailey’s photos of marie helvin and anjelica huston on a beach”, says keller. “there’s a sense of feminine complicity, sensitivity and sunniness in this collection.”

Powdery pastels, makeup shades with nudes and pinks and soft bright accents define chloé’s spring palette, the attitude is confident, but charming and relaxed from day into evening with the shirtdress in crepe de chine, or handkerchief light cotton/linen. blouses are simply chic in the season’s naïve floral prints, or in a play of pleats. in fact, pleats run throughout the collection and show notably as marquetry inlays, or over printed pleats forming sunray stripes. mismatched scale prints with mini and maxi florals are also mixed together. spring jackets are supple, but structured, in double weight cady. pants are fluid and shorts are a staple, from just below the knee to lingerie.

chloé has several new bag styles this season in neat constructions, which play on the softness of leather. a mini clutch with extra-wide strap, an oversized clutch, a new shoulder chain bag and a big tote are proposed in a large selection of beautiful textures, from sensual soft box leathers to very sophisticated exotics, enhanced by a very chloé natural color palette with a twist in bright color accents. belts are like jewelry with mini necklace chains and snaps and strappy sandals in mirrored silver and copper, or python add polish and there is a new sling back with a loafer style front. The overall attitude for chloé this spring is modern and feminine with spontaneous charm and certain intelligence for a look, which is fresh, natural and eclectic.
