Dolce&Gabbana Summer 2017 Men Collection is inspired by music and by the memories that music brings back to everyone’s minds. These memories, despite being different from one person to another, are happy, private and sometimes even secret. The amazing thing about music is the fact that it is timeless.
“Jazz, blues, swing, mambo, pop, dance, hip hop, reggae, all leave a mark in the moments of our life, certainly the beautiful ones that lead us to remember unforgettable, glamorous and special memories.
Music is full of memories and history; it is timeless, ageless and placeless. We imagined being in Sicily (Taormina, Agrigento, Palermo), attending a festival, a concert, an event, under the palms of the Favorita’s or the Botanical Garden’s banana trees.
In this magical atmosphere, the Sicilian Barocco’s golden yellow and Etna’s lava red passion merge. The light of sequins brings us to the glamorous atmosphere of La Dolce Vita.
The mix and match of leopard, pineapples, musical instruments and dancing scenes prints are harmoniously mixed, in order to give a very personalized style to everyone as much as the music does.” Said Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana.
Dolce&Gabbana merged together jazz and swing, pop, dance and rap to create a continuum of genres that knows no barriers of time. The contrasts continue with the clothes and the volumes: large pants, fitted shirts and long kaftans, short jackets and classic suits.
This mix comes from the street, by observing the way real people dress all over the world and it is a way to show how different cultures and ages merge together.
Special guests of the show, a group of the most renowned young gentleman of the so called “Millennial Generation”: Presley Gerber, who opens the show wearing a classic black suit, the infamous YouTuber Cameron Dallas, Rafferty Law, Gabriel Kane Day-Lewis, Lucas Maurice Morad Jagger, Brandon Thomas Lee, Levi Dylan, Will Peltz, Peter Brant II, Austin Butler, Tinie Tempah, Huang JingYu, Han DongJun and Luka Sabbat.
