RUSTICO Celebrates 2nd Anniversary & Introduces New Menu

Great Spanish food should never be ignored even when you need to travel to Lai Chi Kok in Kowloon since there are not many good one in town. Moreover, it is always worth the trip especially the food are the main focus and the only reason that brings you back. By mylifestylenews.

The food speak by itself, Rustico celebrates its 2nd anniversary since its opening two years ago with good recognition gained from foodies and words of mouth. This summer, Rustico puts put together a special menu for the celebrations and here are some of our picks from its successful yet unpretentious gastronomy that is honest, rustic that delights your taste bud.

<Deep-Fried Cod Fish Balls>
A surprise tapas by the chef which is not on the menu. The perfectly fried balls with a fluffy texture inside that was quite pleasurable for a mouth full bite.

<Pan Fried Prawns In Own Jus, Garlic, Chili & Extra Virgin Olive Oil>
A rather tasty dish yet we prefer it without the "prawn bisque" sauce that was a little overpowering. With just garlic, olive oil and wine sauce, it would gives a cleaner and rustic taste and presentation.

<Andalusian Style Deep-Fried Baby Squids>
A great dish that speaks by itself with the freshest of ingredients used and a squeeze of fresh lemon to add that zing on the palate. A great tapas with beer and wine.

<“Tortilla” Spanish Pan-Fried Potatoes, Onion & Ham Omelet>
Scrumptious! The aromatic onions and ham creates a fabulous savory and brings such an elevated flavor to the fore.

<Roasted Onion with Beef Cheek & Spicy Chorizo Ragout Stuffing>
This dish is simplicity personified and utterly delicious despite the amount of stuffing was a little too small in portion, but a minor quibble.

<“RUSTICO” Seafood Paella>
Paella is a must try in any good Spanish restaurant and in Rustico is with no exception. The Bomba rice had that unctuous texture and flavor, it is just the right chewiness that we love, plus the seafood components of prawn, mussel, scallop and clam, it is a must have dish.

<Grilled Presa Iberico with Smoked Eggplant Humus>
The meat is beautifully seasoned adding a piquancy and the humus is a star in its own right. The potatoes on the side are so soft, a perfect combination of the three elements.

<Slow Cooked Suckling Pig with Port Wine Sauce & Baked Potatoes>
A classic menu item that cannot be ignored especially when it is that delicious and cooked to perfection. A not to be missed dish in Rustico.

<La Rotisserie Mediterranean Spring Chicken>
Roasted with secret recipe with Potatoes and Mediterranean Herbs. The fragrance iof the herbs fills the air when it was brought to the table. The chicken was roasted with a light crisp from the skin and moist inside. All times favorite.

<“Torrija” Caramelised Brioche Infused with Orange, Vanilla & Lavender Sauce>
A fabulous dessert,  All we can say is ‘WOW’. A perfect ending to a great evening.
