Fairmont Hotels @ Asia "Go Dark" in Support of Earth Hour 2012

Fairmont Hotels & Resorts once again join forces around the globe to switch off hotel lighting for 60 minutes in support of Earth Hour on 31 March, 2012. In Asia, Fairmont’s luxury hotels have created a number of offerings for guests to participate in this global initiative when the lights go out for sixty minutes. Fairmont Beijing is creating an "Unplugged" Earth Hour in the hotel’s Champagne Bar. The bar will be lit only by candles all evening as guests enjoy an extended Happy Hour until 8:30pm as well as complimentary glow in the dark drinks during Earth Hour while the house band plays unplugged throughout the night. With views overlooking Pudong skylight and Huangpu River, Fairmont Peace hotel Shanghai will serve a candlelit dinner in its Cathay Room with a special Earth Hour menu offering organic and locally sourced items. The famous Jazz Band will also play unplugged as the lights go out.
At Fairmont Yangcheng Lake, guests who check-in during Earth Hour will be escorted by candlelight to their guestroom as the main lobby will be candlelit all night, and flashlights will be provided in all guestrooms should guests choose to participate during Earth Hour. The candlelight atmosphere will be extended throughout dinner in Essence Restaurant. Fairmont Singapore will be turning off balcony lights in all of its 769 guestrooms during Earth Hour, and the Asian Market Café will be candlelit during Earth Hour. Guests will also be encouraged to switch off all electrical appliances and air conditioning units during Earth Hour.
