GUCCI Opened Children's Corner @ Sogo Hong Kong

Gucci opened a children’s corner in Sogo Department Store in Hong Kong with more than 400 square feet and boasts a design conceived by Creative Director Frida Giannini. Giannini’s concept recalls the warm, luxurious design of Gucci stores while adapting signature colors and materials for lighter tones. Ivory becomes the key color that defines the environment, from the glossy laquered wood of the display fixtures.  From the snowy white Guccissima wallpaper along with warm ivory and grey carpet provide a bright atmosphere. Downscaled proportions and Gucci teddy bears create a light-hearted space where clients may play with their children, while touches of rose gold finishing signify Giannini’s aesthetic. Every single detail has been planned according to eco-sustainability and the space is free of allergic materials.
The children’s corner will house collections for babies (from 0 to 36 months) and children (from 4 to 12 years old) including clothes and shoes, as well as a selection of accessories: scarves ties, belts, jewelry and sunglasses. Giannini designed a lively, functional and chic SS2012 collection for young globetrotters who set sail, trek through the jungle or attend a garden party in colorful clothes, inspired by “The Little Travelers.” For boys, nautical stripes and a classic palette of red, white and blue dominate the marine theme, enriched by a new print - the letter G intertwined with an anchor – that appears on T-shirts, bags and shoes or as an intarsia on knitwear. Complementing the jungle theme are the savannah-inspired colors, including aloe green, sand, dusty yellow and toffee brown.
For girls, the floral theme takes center stage through silk organdie dresses with flower applications or long-sleeved t-shirts with prints, complemented by fine knitwear, also featuring floral motifs. A delicate selection of pastel colors such as baby pink, azure, lilac and sherbet green conjures images of a garden in full bloom.
