Wildfire One Night Only Exclusive Pinot Noir Wine Dinner

Wildfire and exclusive wine distributor Wines Connection had chosen the month of March by bringing one of the many premium Pinot Noir of the New World wines selection from the South Pacific region with a wine dinner pairing menu crafted by the culinary team.

The four course dinner will take place for a one-night-only event at the Wildfire pizzabar & grill at Causeway Bay, Hong Kong on 23rd March 2016 at 8pm with limited seats offer for Pinot Noir fanatics.

The Antipasti cold Cut Platter consist of mortadella, salami, parma ham and smoked duck breast an pairing with the 2009 Domain Road Pinot Road from Central Otago, New Zealand.

Tasting Note:
Domain Road Vineyard is situated in a small sheltered valley in the village of Bannockburn. Hot dry summers with cool nights and low rainfall are typical of the area and provide a unique microclimate for the development of their Pinot Noir and even Riesling and Sauvignon Blanc wines. This wine is deep crimson, with purple hues. attractive sweet red and black berry on the nose with hints of spice, dried herbs and subtle integrated oak. Medium weight on the palate, with cherry and plums coming through supported by fine grained tannis. a balanced wine with excellent length.

The Secondi will be serving Mini Calzone with smoked ham, spinach, mixed mushrooms & herbs, mozzarela and mixed salad pairing with the Australia 2007 Clyde Park Pinot Noir from Geelong, Victoria.

Tasting Note:
Clyde Park was established in 1979 and is planted on the slopes and alluvial flats of a spacious amphitheatre. The Clyde Park wines are grown in small blocks, each varying in aspect, elevation, soil type and clone. This results in wines with outstanding varietal character and flavour intensity. This wine is 100% Estate grown and with exceptionally dark purple-red in color. Strongly structured yet not extractive with a pleasant long finish.

USDA Black Angus Ribs served as the main course with black truffle mashed potato pairing with the New Zealand 2012 Torlesse Waipara Pinot Noir and finishes with the Sticky Banana Cake, vanilla ice-cream and honeycomb crispy.

Tasting Note:
The winery started its life as a farm woolshed before it was converted into a winery in 1987 and Torlessse Wines moved to Waipara in 1991 and still share the production facilities. Most grapes are hand harvested and all are batch processed keeping different vineyard components separate for assessment until final blending. This elegant Pinot Noir is simply classy with sweet berry fruit & plums and a spicy savoury character. Very elegance to the palate.
