Roger Vivier AW2012/13 @ Beautiful Fall Collection

Roger Vivier AW2012/13 Beautiful Fall Collection inspiration comes from the heart of the Parisian Rive Gauche, home of Ecole des Beaux-Arts and femmes fatales in marabou coats or oriental turbans, with Slavic-style fur-lined boots, as worn by the late Loulou de la Falaise, queen of Bohemian chic, that Bruno Frisoni, creative director for Roger Vivier, draws his inspiration.
Fanciful memories of late nights seduced by exquisite seventies fever. Embroidered bags with lurex thread and Rainbow-hued sequins abandoned on a bench at the Café Flore after nightclubbing in the roaring twenties. Subtle throw-backs to the 30’s, in spacious chic apartments where 18th century bronzes inspire gold embroideries on black velvet.

Charlotte Rampling’s fragrance, captured by Sieff’s lens and Newton’s creatures reclining bare on Mongolian goat skin rugs set the scene. Dramatic in military boots, with her long hypnotic stride, Inès de la Fressange is the quintessence of allure, innate elegance, amongst an inventory of Vivier heroines in Bruno Frisoni’s 2012 Beautiful Fall.

For the second season, the Prismick line emerges as the cult technique of Roger Vivier. Like other icons of the Maison, its geometric cuts have seduced a great many Roger Vivier fans through their sheer force of style signature. The Metro and Diligence handbag collections, steadfast perennials, continue as key Maison classics.

Metallic mirrored leather translates this season’s expression from a vision of contemporary style. Contrasting muted and warm shades are borrowed from the pre-Raphaelite works of Edward Burne-Jones, or perhaps represent an opulent, almost baroque fragrance translated into color. This season, the renowned Vivier buckle evolves, seen now printed on black satin, creating the illusion of animal print. Dreams, elegance and luxury are the heart of inspiration for Bruno Frisoni at Roger Vivier enhanced by exceptional artisanal expertise and savoir faire.
