This AW2012 collection, G-Star combines rare, unique denim with new processing technology to create an extraordinary denim aesthetics. The three-dimensional cut was created according to body lines. The classic 3D silhouette was modified and improved to apply on different fabrics. The new design depicts an undertone metropolitan denim style.
The Mountain Hooded Parka is this season’s must-have jacket for men. The storm force hood offers ultimate protection and warmth, while the 3D crafted sleeves and classic buttons add a distinctive G-Star twist. The ‘Vector Nylon’ performance fabric is specially made for G-Star and its sealed seam technology is also applied to the Mountain Hooded Bomber. Another highlight this season, the Pearl Trench, adds denim pocket details to the classic trench coat; while the Great Wool Coat in premium Nelson wool presents a modern take on the pea coat, crafting a mix of innovative G-Star detailing and traditional tailoring. The jackets range presents a complete collection of essential seasonal outerwear, combining G-Star’s characteristic functionality with stylish craftsmanship.

G-Star’s key denim style this season is the Radar, designed by Pierre Morisset, whose lowered front pockets offer an effortless attitude without the need for wearing the denim low. Men can choose from slim, tapered and loose fits in six different washings, while a women’s version is available for the first time. This tailored, skinny fit for women also comes in a high waist version and in seven different washings, ranging from raw to light aged.

1920’s socialites are the inspiration for this season’s <Correct Line> collection, mixing the elegance and tailoring of the Roaring Twenties with modern construction techniques and denim detailing. The Key item in the RAW Correct Line look is the Bronson Slim Chino: a classic icon presented with a contemporary, slim fit. For women’s, a classic palette of navy, black and white is lifted by the burnished orange of the British countryside in Autumn. This orange is applied to the wool Duffle Coat and the Big Bronson Chino, which is slightly cropped for a contemporary look. The Minimal Dress and Parka Dress, both from RAW Correct Line, complement the denim collections and are perfect for a night out on the town or a fancy dinner party. Unexpected details, such as outdoor pockets and leather detailing add a G-Star twist.

The <Laundry Army> combines modern, technical details, such as pattern cutting techniques, with the elegant tailoring of cavalry uniforms – as seen in the close-fitting Hdd Overshirt l/s; the tapered fit of the Yasur 3D Loose pants; and the technical zips that sweep around the collar of the Field Parka. Women’s collection takes inspiration from the French Cavalry, fusing the high functionality and utility focused detailing of military wear with a refined and elegant style. The Cavalry Major Tapered Pant and Cavalry Coat feature exaggerated round pockets inspired by classic saddlebags, while fabrics such as grey Marshall wool mélange, brushed velvety sateen and refined twills add a luxury twist to traditional military fabrics.

Marc Newson’s G-Star collections add his unique design aesthetic and sense of humour to the fashion arena. For AW2012, Newson has reworked a number of classic styles to give them a modern twist. The collection’s broad denim range is complemented by the Wool Pea-Coat - a traditional P-Coat with technical zips; and the Suede jacket and Wool jacket – classic bomber jacket styles executed in luxury fabrics, with details including technical zips and the use of architectural paper patterns. The Patch Sweat and Sweat Pant fuse authentic Japanese and American street-wear influences with classic chambray elbows and knees, giving a clean and distinguished look.
