InterContinental Bangkok - Live The InterContinental Bangkok Life

Being one of the pioneer luxury hotels in Bangkok throughout the decades, the InterContinental Bangkok is still going strong among other new comers from around the neighborhood, thanks to its strategic and social location in Bangkok that connects you to everywhere in this bustling City of Angels. mylifestylenews writes.

Perfectly situated on Phloen Chit road, adjacent to the luxury Gaysorn boutique shopping mall and with connecting covered overhead bridges to the Central World and the infamous Erawan Shrines as well as the sky bridge walking distance to the Siam Paragon, further linked to the local design and lifestyle malls such as Siam Square mall and the newly re-opened Siam Discovery mall, InterContinental Bangkok is no doubt one of the most wanted-to-stay-at luxury hotels in Bangkok. For such a prime and ideal location, the InterContinental Bangkok is still one of the priority choices for business or leisure that fits into all kind of purposes and happenings around your needs.

Location sells. Such neighborhoods du jour with urban retreats and great meals awaits, emerging restaurants and local good-eats open late into the night with occasionally come-and gone street vendors that add vibes to Bangkok adventures and fascinate your visit in this city that never sleeps to another level of exciting exploration.

The Elegant Lobby Lounge

The ultra-high ceiling foyer and the grand staircase marks the 5-star luxury for the InterContinental Bangkok. A gigantic dome ceiling topped with elegant hanging chandeliers and tasteful flower arrangements creates the classy international hotel’s luxury impression the moment you step into the hotel.

The hotel lifts designed with understated elegance.

A further approach is the indoor open space lobby lounge that is gracefully laid out with a full glass window looking out at the busy Phloen Chit road, an entirely perfect place for afternoon tea and evening happy hours while watching the world go by.

With the hardware and facility in perfect order, the hospitality and service will be the next thing to look for. Our check-in at the Executive Club Floor was a little hit and miss as we moved into the InterContinental Bangkok from our previous stay across the hotel in Holiday Inn Bangkok that reconfirmed our booking on the same morning at 10am with the room to be ready by 11am. We deliberately checked-in at 1:30pm to give them more time to settle but to our dismay upon arrival, the booking was not found neither the room assigned ready. After a good 20 minutes back and forth internal communication checks, our room finally being assigned to a higher floor with the city view facing Sukhumvit. The process was rather below our expectation with a further delay on our tea selection request to be delivered to our room which took 30 minutes after a call was placed.

Our 45 sqm Grand Deluxe room comes with a top quality large king-size bed, soft linen to compliment the large pillow, which was simply heavenly. Modern in-room amenities from high speed internet access to in-room entertainment systems ease all your worries for either business or pleasure. The finely marbled and tiled bathroom comes with a separate shower and bath tub with ample space. Daily replenishment of seasonal fresh fruits is another added bonus feature without any further request.

The roof top swimming pool is smaller than expected yet it is an oasis in the city with low hanging coconut trees surrounding the pool deck that creates a more tranquil ambience. The sunken pool bar is another popular spot to chill with your favorite cocktails and beers on a hot afternoon in Bangkok.

A self-upgrade to the Executive Club lounge in InterContinental Bangkok on the level 37 is a definite must as the benefits are not only extended to further upgrades on room categories (base on availability) and business center assistance that facilitate your immediate secretariat needs, yet you can also enjoy a better quality premium breakfast with bottomless bubbly included and all-you-can-order from its carefully crafted international and local menu. Phad Thai noodles, Thai congee, egg benedicts and much more are among many of the highlights that are prepared a-la-minute.

Afternoon tea with sandwiches and canapes are served as well as the early evening cocktails with a mini-buffet set up almost like a full dinner meal - from hors d'œuvres and savories to a great cheese selection, bread, pastry and warm cooked canapes that are prepared to your desired craving.

There was even a whole leg of Spanish Jamon available during our visit that you could slice to your own preference. Premium wines and beers are offered to our own liking with the uninterrupted views from atop to watch the sun go down. Along with such an irresistible offer, non-alcoholic beverages also served throughout the day.

Sometimes, we travel not to escape life but for life not to escape us and find your own bliss and return home to share the fondest memories with others. The InterContinental Bangkok is among the few InterContinental hotels we have stayed in that offers and leaves you the impression that you could “Live the InterContinental Life” especially with its lifestyle offerings, at least the Bangkok way.
