PRADA Opens First Store in Mexico City

PRADA opens its first store in Mexico City on the renowned Avenida Presidente Masaryk, in the heart of the shopping district. The new space, designed by architect Roberto Baciocchi, covers a total area of 250 sqm spread over two floors dedicated to the men’s and women’s collections of leather goods, accessories and footwear,as well as the women’s ready-to-wear collection. The store is prodigiously located on the street corner and is characterized by an elegant black Marquina marble façade that frames the entrance, the windows, and the 6 metre-high floor-to-ceiling glass walls with perspex panels blending the interiors into the urban landscape.

The ground floor opens onto an area dedicated to women’s bags and accessories and defined by the signature materials that identify Prada worldwide: the distinctive black and white marble chequered flooring and green fabric-clad wallsfeaturingPrada’s iconic display niches.Polished steel and crystal display counters with coloured saffiano leather detailing complete the setting.  The next space hosts the men’s collections of leather goods, accessories and footwear: here the dark tones of the ebony-clad walls clash with the bright, dazzling polished steel display cases, exalting the leather seating and the counters’ coloured saffiano elements.

The first floor, displaying the women’s collections, is divided into two areas defined by beige carpeting and green fabric-clad walls. The first area showcases the bag and footwear collections, nestled in precious polished steel and crystal display cases; the second area, characterised by Plexiglases panels display stands, houses the women’s ready-to-wear collection. Fine crystal tables and green velvet sofas complement the furnishings.
