Boggi Milano FW2014/15 collection is built around four main themes: printed season, new comfort, exclusive yarn and black watch. The season is strongly characterized by the return of mismatched garments, opening the wardrobe to patterned jackets and blazers in soft light colors. Prince of Wales, over checks and Vichy patterns replace plain color coats, typical of past seasons allowing to play with combinations thus conferring a refreshed look. Also shirts, in both classic and sporty version, show micro weaves and three‐dimensional print effects. Noteworthy are the printed shirts with paisley motifs, micro floral and polka dot which give a less formal look but sophisticated and above all never ordinary.
The big news of the season is the introduction of a new fit that makes the garments more comfortable and closer to tailoring. The brand introduces a range of blazers with shirt‐effect rounded shoulders to confer maximum comfort. Another new entry is the Fit Drop 8, a more fit suit model with contoured waist and slimmer revers.The fitted cut of the trousers and turtlenecks give a contemporary style, less formal but elegant with the “new comfort”, that take place of the shirt and tie.
130’S wool yarn suits or jackets in unique mixture of wool and cashmere with patterns and colors that are specially created for the brand. These exclusive fabrics for Boggi mingle with more technical materials, hence providing a wide high quality selection. Noble fibers such as cashmere and silk are mixed with wool obtaining an effect of unique brilliance and touch. One of the common thread that runs through the entire collection is Alcantara, a detail that gives added value to shirts and sweaters. Knits, apart from consolidated classic yarns, offer a variety of luxury mixes such as alpaca, angora and cashmere.
Very important are also double knits that are lined with different fabrics such as jersey and nylon. Of particular interest is the versatile fullzip padded with quilted nylon ‐ halfway between a sweater and a jacket. The sports line BM39 sees the return of the British style with the black watch: a check pattern characterized by navy and dark green shades. Included in this mood are also the shirt and pants both embellished with details in dark shades with a sophisticated and at the same time sporty connotation.
The quilted jackets combine nylon with black watch flannel, creating an interesting patchwork. The color palette protagonist of the Fall Winter fades from the classic Boggi blue to brown and gray shades with brighter shades of color on the patterned garments. The collection shows its innovative and cutting edge essence also thanks to the wide selection of outwear pieces like the practical reversible and warm quilted jackets. Must have from the collection is the Urban Motor Jacket: a waterproof caban coat rich in details such as the windproof belt, wrists, reflective strips that disappear, easy detachable body warmer waistcoat, perfect for the cold season. The renewed and fresh image of the brand emerges from its accessories: ties, handkerchiefs and scarves key elements of the look of men wearing Boggi.
