Van Cleef & Arpels @ Lady Arpels Palais de la Chance Blue Fortuna Decor Timepiece

Van Cleef & Arpels unveiled its High Jewelry and Timepieces collection Palais de la chance™ in 2012. To further celebrate this enchanting notion, the Maison has created a special edition of 20 pieces only available at Galaxy Macau Boutique: the Lady Arpels Palais de la chance blue Fortuna decor timepiece. A new interpretation of the Lady Arpels Palais de la chance Fortuna decor timepiece presented in January 2012, it reveals an enchanting harmony of blue shaded tones. This Extraordinary Dial™ watch pays tribute to Fortuna, the Goddess of Luck. It perpetuates the tradition of fairies to which the Maison is so attached. Those magical creatures, both refined and playful, are true symbol of grace and femininity. Since the 1940s, they have inhabited the enchanted garden of Van Cleef & Arpels, and their delicate charm has been captured by the Maison.
For this timepiece, Van Cleef & Arpels has used the innovative micro-mosaic of enamel technique, employed for the first time in 2012. It consists in placing a silver leaf called “paillon” on the base of the dial. The “paillon” is then adorned with translucent enamel cubes. This technique brings movement and relief to the dial which is framed with a white gold case paved with round diamonds. Diamonds and shaded tones of blue sapphires also animate the decor. Like all the fairies of the Maison, Fortuna is a true miniature sculpture in gold, with a rose-cut diamond face. Her wings are in plique-à-jour enamel.
