M·A·C Cosmetics VIVA GLAM @ World AIDS Day

M·A·C Cosmetics will match all VIVA GLAM product sales on all of its MACcosmetics.com ecommerce sites creating a double donation on World AIDS Day (1 December). M·A·C supports these meaningful causes throughout Asia, North America, Europe, UK and Africa. In addition to this global initiative, within Asia Pacific 10 countries will participate in local market initiatives to support causes and to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS.

“Our employees take great pride in the fact that 100 percent of each VIVA GLAM sale they make goes directly toward improving the lives of people affected by HIV/AIDS. The company is bonded by our commitment to the M•A•C AIDS Fund - the heart and soul of the M·A·C brand since 1994. With over 12,800 M·A·C Artists from around the world joining hands to support our annual initiatives, we intend to make a difference, one VIVA GLAM lipstick at a time” Commented Nancy Mahon, Global Executive Director, M·A·C AIDS Fund and Senior Vice President, M·A·C Cosmetics.
Now in its fourth year in Asia Pacific, VIVA GLAM sales have exceeded US $19.5 million in the region and over $270 million globally since the campaigns’ inception. Within the region M·A·C World AIDS Day Volunteer initiatives extend from the end of November until mid-December, across Mainland China, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Vietnam, Malaysia, The Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan and Australia. The funds raised have been used to support local programs in these countries and around the region; a key example of this for 2012 is M·A·C AIDS Fund’s announcement of a US$500,000 grant to Vietnam from this regional fund. The grant supports a two-year project in conjunction with the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS) and the World Health Organization (WHO). “Treatment 2.0” will focus on new innovations to expand access to HIV diagnosis, treatment and care through a series of innovations Vietnam is one of the first countries in the world to commit to this pilot.
