3.1 PHILLIP LIM Holiday 2012 Collection plays with several different themes bringing them together in an eclectic playful mix assuring a successful and fun holiday season.The collection is meant to satisfy the needs of the party girl ready to get her “roll” on, in cool, easy, elegant clothing with charm and spades.
 
 
There are Tiger print with soft & structured tailoring ,Peek-a-boo lace, Taffetta bows, Deck of cards embellishments and Patched sequins. The tiger print is one of the main graphic elements of the collection. It is worked in two ways: as an all over print on lambskin leather and as a super-posed tiger print on silk CDC and silk chiffon.The soft versus structured tailoring plays on two contrasted ideas, one being the soft and fluid tailoring and the second direction being the more structured and constructed one. The soft tailoring wool viscose is also developed in bias-cut styles.
  
  
The Peek-a-boo lace is for the feminine and delicate touch the collection played with mixtures of lace and lace trims in a peek a boo fashion. The layering and superposition of the different textures combined with the silk organza creates tattoo-like effect. The lace and lace trims are also developed in a group combined with mercerized cotton modal jersey.The party girl will have her time with the taffetta bow group. The memory taffetta gives body to the garments with built in bows. The bows are also developed in a series of garments with silver mirrored PVC bows.
 
For the sophisticated embellishment lovers, this collection will definitely strike a chord! The all-over cabouchon embellishment inspired by the deck of cards symbols has the modernity and sophisticated youthfulness assuring a look that makes heads turn. The eye element in this all over embellishment inspired the name ‘All eyes on you’. The cut-out deck of cards shapes in silver mirrored PVC are also worked on silk CDC with organza over layer. Different types and colors of sequins are patched together and mixed with silk CDC. The play with textures, color and different fabrics results in eclectic and graphic fun garments.
