Conspirators 同謀

The truth may not be the ultimate truth and lies between those who were trying to solve the mystery. <Conspirators> marks the conclusion of the trilogy of director Oxide Pang's <The Detective> & <The Detective 2> action/drama thriller about 2 private detectives from two different countries investigating the same case for finding out the lost/death parents of Chan Tam's (Aaron Kwok). The first two prequel of the movie created a more horrifying thriller aspect and mood by leading the audiences thought it was a horror movie instead of action thriller. This conclusion had indeed lost its original charm but with the add on forceful action temp the audience to stay on and redirected their attention by getting more involved with the investigation. Yet the wise Director Pang continue to create a desirable nostalgia mood especially in the carefully selected locations and the art direction and costume gives a more rustic temperament to the film while it is actually take place in the current day. The twisty and intriguing plot are the usual suspect for Pang's film well played with his co screen writers intertwine in an unexpected ways but it doesn't really work at all times with no exception to this film especially a few failures his previous film co-directed with his twin brother Danny Pang.
