3.1 Phillip Lim Fall 2015 Women Collection systems are necessary to structure, in any type of convention. In the process of returning to his core value he was able to re-address the systems and structures that they build along the way- even the most conventional of system - "Pretty".
Lim looked at clothing archetypes; suits; coats, a trench, the nice "lady" dress, which are the flag bearers for these systems and began the process to cut away, reverse, collapse and simply kick it all around a bit.
It's fun to self-reflect and find ways within these confines to re-invent. In the end rigor is in character and in challenging of the system they have built. Most importantly having a good time with it.
