Jala Restaurant @ Newest Addition Beachfront Dining At The Andaman Resort

There are not many restaurants in this world that allow their guests to walk in or at least after you have entered the restaurant that require you to bare your foot all the way until you leave as the official “dress code” for a dining scene. Jala Seafood restaurant in The Andaman Resort in Langkawi has its charm to make you feel even more comfortable by doing so. mylifestylenews take the chance to dine in……

Jala means net or fish net, by all means it relates to fresh catch from the sea. Jala is the latest addition to the restaurant collection at the Andaman and the restaurant is to no exception serving delicious seafood with an exciting fusion of Malay and Western styles. This contemporary and indigenous beachfront seafood restaurant offer a seafood mini market style display by picking your own favorite seafood on freshly delivered on the same day from the sea and yet there is restriction on how your prefer your cooking to be done. It is all entirely up to your own discretion.

To get into the spirit of the evening, you are invited to leave your footwear at the shoe concierge section at the restaurant entrance, as the floor of the restaurant is all pure soft sand from the beach and we loved the feeling of baring our feet in the sand while casually dining by watching the sun goes down.

The freshest sustainable catch is delivered to the resort daily by the local fisherman and you get to choose your fish, your preferred method of cooking and your preferred sauce from a list of options, so in a way, you create your own meal without having to step into the kitchen.

We thought it only fitting to continue the fruit of the ocean theme, we enjoyed a ‘seafood’ dessert to sweeten up the palate. National Geographic has named the Andaman’s beach as one of best in the world, so they wanted to showcase the beach theme in a dessert. The creation is made with pistachio sponge cake to represent the corals, and tasty edible “sand” inspired by the unique sand at the resort. Served with fresh strawberries from Cameron Highlands and coconut ice cream made from young coconuts provided by the resorts very own organic farmer, this made for a perfect ending with this dessert representing the Andaman and its lovely surroundings.
