LONGCHAMP @ FW2014/15 RIVE DROITE RIVE GAUCHE Collection

LONGCHAMP FW2014/15 RIVE DROITE RIVE GAUCHE Collection draws inspiration from the Parisienne. This universal muse and style icon is defined by her creative spirit, her independence and her natural elegance. The River Seine divides  Paris intwo, but the Parisienne switches from one bank to the other according to mood and moment.

The Right Bank girl is a city slicker, driven by determination and ambition. Mirroring the strict geometry of the Tuileries Gardens or the Palais Royal, her style is graphic and sophisticated. Leather goods favour structured  forms and firm skins, epitomized by the season’s key new line: Le Pliage® Héritage.

An elegant homage to  Longchamp’s cult Le Pliage - this bag is crafted from cross-grained cowhide or smooth calf leather with a  panther or dégradé print. Two other lines are also emblematic of the Right Bank theme: Le Pliage® Losange,  an optical illusion print inspired by the architectural perspective of the Louvre Pyramid, and Jardin Royal, a richly textured nylon and velvet jacquard referencing the geometrical box hedges of the Tuileries Gardens. The  cool colour palette is dominated by black, beige and grey - Autumn’s new neutral enriched with touches of  dark green and purple.

The Parisienne of the Left Bank, by contrast, is a more bohemian spirit, haunting the cinemas of the Latin Quarter, the galleries of Saint Germain, and the rambling Luxembourg Gardens. Accordingly, the Rive Gauche theme spotlights supple shapes and sensual materials, typified by the new Perle de Caviar line of destructured  bags in supple, shagreen style leather with gold chain details on the handles. Another highlight of this theme is Quadri Croco with an animal motif on the finest calfskin leather that gives a luxurious and exotic crocodile  print. The warm colour palette is infused with wood and animal hues, enlivened by sumptuous reds and pinks.
