TORY BURCH FW2015 @ Marrakech Meets Chelsea Collection

TORY BURCH FW2015 Marrakech Meets Chelsea  Collection inspired by London bohemia focuses on beautifully crafted embellishments, a mix of textures, carefully engineered patterns, bias cuts and the play of masculine and feminine.

Accessories including arrowhead jewelry, small saddlebags to oversized carpetbags, boots with carved metal heels and mules with studs add to this bold mood.

The color palette started with a cooler palette of blues and slate grays and it then goes into deep burgundies and reds.

There’s newness in the silhouettes. A lot about the bias-cut and did it on leather, chiffon, jersey… It’s really about how it drapes to the body so it’s definitely sexy, not tight fitting at all.

There’s newness in the silhouettes. A lot about the bias-cut and did it on leather, chiffon, jersey… It’s really about how it drapes to the body so it’s definitely sexy, not tight fitting at all.

The colors in the coats are quite beautiful. One is navy with sequins woven inside the fabric which is very linear and beautiful. Then a jacquard in slate blue and ivory. Menswear details are applied and used an incredible technique where they bonded suede and crackled leather and then crocheted it together.

Two pant silhouettes this season – they’re either super-skinny right to the ankle or flared and long to the floor. The skinny ones work perfectly with this Chelsea boot, inspired by one of my her father’s shoes. You’ll see a lot of bow blouse throughout the collection. It’s actually separate from the shirt, you can tie it or use it as a scarf. It’s super-chic.

Small saddle bags, oversized carpet bags and then a great envelope bag in this material that’s leather but looks like wood with studding and detailing on the bags. Over-the-knee boots looked really beautiful with the uneven hemlines as well as shorter boots and mules. The mules have a stud detail, and they’re in leather, velvet, and all different materials. There’s a lot of special detailing in the shoes this season… and the metal heel that had made in Morocco.

VIVIENNE TAM FW2015 Collection

VIVIENNE TAM FW2015 Collection is an urban romantic take on chinoiserie. The European concept of China, sparked by its imagination of the mystical and exotic Far East.

This prevailing aesthetic characterized by intricate designs that blend ornate European design with rich imagery from the East.

Lush renderings of birds, pagodas, boats bamboos, bridges and more was iterated in mirrors, furniture, wall coverings, draperies and decorative art objects that dominated interior and fashion design.

Pearlescent paillettes under sheer tulle and printed silk shifts with sequined and beaded accents are reminiscent of cloisonne textures while muted plaids are overlaid with black lace.

Baroque matte silver and foiled gold lace derived from Chinese Chippendale gilt mirrors are appliqued onto high-necked, Victorian-inspired silk blouses that frame the face.

Wool jersey and techno-fabric patchwork dresses with graphic body frame overlays and structured trapunto wool pea-coats round out the line-up.

The collection is rendered in both natural and hi-tech materials, such as melton and boiled wool, fine silks and printed multi-textured techno-mesh layered with hand-crafted embroideries, lace and laser cut appliques.

It features exaggerated silhouettes gathered sleeves, flared A-line skirts and dresses with nipped in waists as well as quilted skirts and cropped jackets.

 Sometimes paired with long or cropped menswear-inspired trousers expressed in warm ivories, camels, grays, dusty pinks, imperial blues, varying depths of red, and burnished metallics.

ST. JOHN FW2015/16 Collection

ST. JOHN FW2015/16 Collection excels in bringing out the natural beauty of women. The name ST. JOHN is an alternative term for elegance and it is best proved in this collection. This season embodies three central themes inspired by the breath-taking beauty of California destinations: TAHOE, CARMEL, and NAPA. Boldly elegant TAHOE, is influenced by the palettes and patterns of nature creating a wardrobe of luxe and effortless pieces. Subtly unique CARMEL, highlights tone-on-tone tailoring and technique. Caviar is intertwined with jewel tone patterns adding a level of alluring sophistication. Richly refined NAPA, offers modern silhouettes and signature shapes in shades of fine wine.

<Boldly Elegance Tahoe>
The theme is inspired by the stunning scenery of Tahoe, California. The snow mountain and lake there naturally leads you into a state of serenity and solidarity, which perfectly matches with the main idea of the themeTahoe blue and cream, the corresponding colors of water and snow are two dominant colors in this theme. Tweed as a prominent feature can be found in most of the pieces. Various stitches are held together to create different types of tweed. The colors incorporated in the tweed always give out a hint of Tahoe, linking back to the relaxing yet elegant idea of the theme.

<Subtly Unique Carmel>
Second theme takes its inspiration from Carmel in California. Palm Spring is well-known for its astonishing sea view. Overseeing the Pacific Ocean and enjoying the sea breeze gives you a sense of freedom and satisfaction. Unlike other themes, this theme focuses on special yarns. Some of the garments have even used up to seven yarns of different jewel tones from countries like the USA, Italy, Japan, etc. Some other pieces use yarn that includes small hints of color and metallic without making a continuous weight of color throughout. This is what makes the overall theme subtly unique.

<Richly Refined Napa>
Napa, California is home to the concept of the third theme. To compliment Napa’s reputation of wine making, this theme has adopted the new mahogany and malbec as the key colors which instantly lead to an intoxicating feel. This not only adds an alluring silhouette to the garments, but also rewards a refined sophistication to the woman who wears it. A new technique has been used in this theme, a stitch called sparkle plissé knit, which uses five different yarns including sparkled slub yarns, a twisted & stretch viscose yarn and our signature yarn. The snakeskin floral prints in the same theme coordinates with the knit meticulously, making it playful yet formal simultaneously.
