Chaumet, illustrious jewellery House of the place Vendome, has been renowned for its exceptional timepieces, worn by some of the greatest names in history. In deed, in 1811 the House created its first pair of wristwatches ordered by Eugene de Beauharnais, the son of Empress Josephine, for his wife Augusta de Baviere. To celebrate this anniversary, a prestigious exhibition recalls the watchmaking history of the House, from the French "Premier Empire" period to the 1990s. Thirty or so pieces, most of them genuine works of art never before revealed to the public, will be presented: at the Chaumet Museum in Hong Kong in May, then Paris in July in the salons of the Musee Chaumet at 12, place Vendome and finally in Tokyo in September.
