45R Celebrates The Grand Opening Of Newest Harbour City Store

45R celebrates the grand opening of newest Harbour City Store recently with the President Mr. Takahashi Shinji, Chief Operating Officer Mr. Nakashima Masaki and Founder (Chief Designer) Ms. Inoue Yasumi to unveil the newest boutique.

The new shop demonstrates an elegant design concept that pays tribute to its roots in Japan by incorporating traditional elements embraced with a modern twist. As another exciting highlight of the opening, special edition products with over 20 styles including classic t-shirts, signature indigo items, embroidered and tie dye items for both men and women, are offered exclusively at this shop for a limited period of time.

To complement the essence of Japanese culture, Cypress wood and Oya stone are specially imported from Japan as the key interior materials to showcase the brand’s appreciation towards the beauty of Mother Nature. Horizontal beams and vertical pillars with the wood finishing widely seen in Japanese architecture are also introduced.

The store is expanded to 1,223 square feet, creating a more comfortable and sophisticated interior which provides warm ambience.

To exhibit the modernity of the brand, the logo R has been transformed into an eye-catching feature all by framing various shapes, textures and colors of wood. Custom-made by Japanese craftsmen to honor the brand’s signature dyeing technique, the letter “R” is being highlighted by indigo-dyed wood to infuse a tasteful artistic touch in the new store.

The newest Harbour City store has introduced a specific corner to showcase the latest men’s collections.

Indigo dye items feature a unique print, called “Mountain Dot”, which is a mix of the traditional kimono print and a dot print that forms a shape similar to the Japanese Kanji Character “Mountain”.

Made with loosely weaved Gauze material and in a relaxed, casual silhouette, the lightness of this series makes it perfect for layering and transitioning between seasons.

GIEVES & HAWKES AW2016 Collection

GIEVES & HAWKES AW2016 Collection heralds a change in pace from last Fall’s urban, dark and slick mood; but it is not about settling down, rather more settling in to the modern British gentleman’s lifestyle presenting more casual clothes made for Country house parties and for exploring the streets of a foreign city, requiring the same level of refinement and luxury but in a cosy, comfortable and considered manner. Established codes have been reinforced with a youthful edge, clean fresh styling and updated proportions.

Avoiding cliché country tweeds, a two piece suit in soft black and grey granite donegal is worn with a cashmere knit polo and bold knit scarf; taking the formality down whilst ensuring the look is still smart and put-together. A navy checked car coat is worn with a textured wool knit tie and a tonal shirt, or alternatively a two button, single breasted jacket in winter white self-check is worn with white cotton/ cashmere chinos and a wool polo neck. A double breasted camel blazer with chunky knit scarf and cream pants is worn open with insouciance.

G&H has established an aesthetic based on a continental language with a strong British accent over the past few years. Focussing on British-made, G&H has worked with UK mills to create unique statement fabrics including exploded houndstooth and large Prince of Wales checks. Technical fabrics have been developed in Italy to ensure such pieces as the clay red waterproof-wool bodywarmer with down lining are as practical as they are stylish. Richly textured knits in basket weave and twist-cable are a layering staple and worn under tailored sports coats and coats alike. Knit-on-knit is a fresh and contemporary way to layer either in matching the scarf with the sweater, or with sweater-on-sweater pairings. Knits have taken their inspiration from woven fabrics used elsewhere in the collection.

A youthful shearling-lined parka with fur trim gives a fresh twist on a weekend favourite and a shearling car coat is presented as an updated luxury investment piece. British-woven camel cloth is presented in two looks, a peacoat and a doublebreasted overcoat, both cut with versatility in mind to be worn either with a shirt and knit, or a chunky polo neck. The camel has been inverted to sportswear instead of traditional business attire. The exclusive British-woven wool jacquard bomber jacket is a modern interpretation of a tweed jacket in a young, short style which is as perfect worn with beat-up jeans as tailored chinos. Old-school fabrics have been revisited, moving away from notions of stiff and coarse to a soft handle and drape.

The formal evening silk jacquard has become a signature of the House. Continuing our tradition of working with British silk weavers to create new patterns, this season’s foliate country jacquard in bronze comes in a relaxed double-breasted jacket worn with a cashmere/silk polo neck and black wool dress pants and a punchy contrast sock detail. A grey flannel tuxedo and the houses’s iconic shawl-collar velvet jacket are taken country with the addition of a knit and chunky scarf.

Reflecting the adventurous spirit of the season, refined calf leather lace-ups and Chelsea boots have been fitted with a chunky Commando sole. The country lace-up has been pared down and beefed up. Rugged but still elegant these sit alongside smart sneakers in chocolate brown and black with a gum sole. Oversized cable-knit scarves worn with tailoring reflect a sporty country mood.

SHANGHAI TANG AW2016 Men & Women Collection

Shanghai Tang AW2016 menswear turns it’s attentions to the urban sophisticate. A new “no tie attitude” shows itself in relaxed silhouettes and well-dressed looks: building a timeless, naturally easy wardrobe. The season is full of debonair, smart-casual looks that equip him with many modern essentials. Most of the fabrics are from Italy, we re-focus on elevated hand feel or innovative materials, giving strength to essentials like a blazer with stand collars or the revisited modern Officer jacket. This season we promote the brand’s strong identity with 8 different stand-up or band collars accenting the roots of Shanghai Tang Men.

After a hot summer of aquas, light chalk and pale pastels, Shanghai Tang is proposing an autumnal palette of deep reds, cognacs, camels and classic greys for every day.  Another palette evolves into a range of peacock blues and greens offset with greys, snow, clay tones. Continuing with our famous seemingly unstructured pieces, everything is light in construction: non-lined blazers, double-faced jersey jackets and vibrantly colored knits or graphic lattice patterns inform a wardrobe that is confidently versatile.  Enveloping looks and masculine layers come with strong thick cashmere knitted sweater-blousons, minimal winter coats and massive silk cashmere scarves.

The Shanghai Tang man will have plenty to choose from the range of sleek navy and charcoal classics, white stand–up collars shirts, blazers and specially treated coats. This season, we push “the casual tailoring” and introduce different signature collars, highlighted with Chinese detailing or tone on tone 3D Lattice pattern on comfortable sweaters. The signature Mandarin collar shirt and jacket favorites come in fresh and exciting iterations this autumn. But a more experimental and adventurous way means this season’s wardrobe has more colorful, confident statement pieces taking the lead, sometimes with even strong graphic intarsia patterns. Cue a renewed sense of tactility: soft to the touch, cashmeres pullovers, can be pared with well-cut long coats on weekends. We take luxury fabrics seriously, so have upped the use of elevated and innovative materials this season, like on the sand finished Car coat, tactile 3D textures, Devore corduroy, two-tone vegetal leathers and lush felt jackets with distinctive collar trim.

For the holidays or party season, we play with new proportions on the Tang velvet jacket creating a shorter, easier and more modern version - almost like a blouson. The evening suit are shadow printed for non-classic effect and can alternatively be matched up with the deep red leather jacket. The mandarin collar means freedom: no tie attitude, no problem. From under the warm glow of a Tibetan sun to the vast plains of Mongolia, the Shanghai Tang woman is on journey this season. A modern day nomad set on a path to freedom, crossing between West and East, she traverses the style highlands in a palette of vibrant hues: dark jade, malbec or midnight blue.

She prefers a layered, effortless chic mixing and matching as she see’s fit. There is a newfound bohemian attitude to her style, and this season’s collection weaves a confident narrative of effortless glamour and tribal adventures. The cuts are more modern, slightly younger with plenty of versatile separates that fit into an everyday and evening wardrobe. We move away from the cold and minimal. It’s statement coats accented by luxurious, soft shearling and artisanal, nomadic embroideries that are setting the tone. Motifs on updated qipao, cool jackets and youthful skirts feature bold graphics from the ancient doors of remote temples and traditional tribal rugs. Silk shirts are clean and sophisticated, whilst 3D embroidery and textured woven pieces bring an element of craft. Feminine accents come in delicious shades of Mongolian lotus, strawberry pink and lotus flower. Razor sharp tailoring, an elegant wispy white shirt paired with dark culottes and a bold ethnic necklace makes for smart daywear. This season is about balancing city chic with the romance and exotic details taken from Mongolian costumes.

Here is a wardrobe full of statements. They range from the Ikat graphic silk shirts, dark separates accented by vibrant embroideries or the glamorous eveningwear that takes a languid turn with a long, romantic bohemian gown slit to the thigh. Sensuality is part and parcel this new confidence, so texture is key, especially in those rustic furs and lavish palm jacquards. AW2016 is an ode to trailblazing women who are worldly and urbane. It’s a vital lifestyle to lead, reflected in the bold colors, defined silhouettes and slim flattering cuts. With fall comes a new chapter - one that blends the label’s signature sophistication with a sense of liberty, ease and adventure.
