《Fon Talop @ Chaktuchak》

We love Chatuchak market not only for the shopping but also the food stalls as well, there are hundreds of vendor stalls in the market but you may not know where to start as they all look and taste equally delicious. One of the vendor stalls that we have tried and tested and have been giving all our thumbs up for the 6 consecutive years is this all time favorite store and they are all time packed with locals and tourists~ it is none other than Fon Talop.

Fon Talop may be hard to find but if you take the Metro to the last stop of Kampheng Phet and turn left after you step out from the station and walk along for 2 minutes, you will see the line queuing on your right. It can be at least 20 minutes of waiting time if you come with a group of 4 or more but if you are on your own or just the 2 of you, you may be lucky to get your seat (sharing table is common) instantly.

What to order? Do not hesitate to ask for the English menu or else just look around you what other's are eating. The first must order is the deep fried chicken, it comes with chicken breast or drumstick, the crispiness of the skin and the moist of the flesh and deep into the special sweet chili sauce is just divine. Secondly, follow by the freshly made Som Tum (Papaya Salad) and Shredded Pork with mint, they go perfectly well with the steamed sticky rice. Other not to be missed is the Sour Soup with mixed beef & pork brisket, simply opens up your appetite again.
We always order a Glass noodle clear broth to end the whole meal as it helps to clean up the heat of the chili intake. For drinks, the ice cold Logan juice is one of a kind, so refreshing and you may want to have another one without question. Next time when you shop in Chatuchak, Fon Talop is a must to go as we have been back there again and again for more than 6 years each time we come to Bangkok.
