《TOMMY HILFIGER @ SS2012 Collection》

Tommy Hilfiger Menswear SS2012 collection presents inspired by the globe-trotting adventures of The Hilfigers – the preppy, All-American family that fronts Hilfiger’s global advertising campaign – it’s a diverse collection that mixes classic prep style with cultural inspiration from across the globe. It all began for Tommy Hilfiger: New York. Metropolitan and sophisticated, but with a touch of spontaneity, it mingles classic Tommy red, white and blue with striking orange and green pop highlights. Casual and classic combine for a relaxed look where chinos and denim form the basis of preppy outfits. In outerwear, chunky toggled fasteners close heavyweight cardigans with shawl collars. Uplifting and sporty stripes bring a playful ‘stand out in the bleachers’ feel while in shirts, patterns are fresh and slim silhouettes lend their energy to this cityesque collection.

Prep Weekend is a colorful look grounded with olive, white and midnight. Stylish shorts mingle sportily with deconstructed blazers that are washed and soft in appearance, worn like a shirt. Polos are wardrobe essentials over which bright, lightweight sweaters are layered and finished with casual olive Airfield jackets. A high-class camping trip is the inspiration for the third collection, Prep Camp, which blends utility and functional elements with chic, preppy details. Sun-bleached colors, like beige or white, are mixed with pop red and yellow highlights. Checks brighten the mix and choice of fabrics. Cool new details are seen on pockets of plain shirts that are chic and classy. Garment dyed t-shirts and polos complete this look full of camping classics.

The Womenswear collection announces a classic prep look with a global feel and inspired by the globe-trotting adventures of The Hilfigers - the All-American family fronting Hilfiger’s global advertising campaign – it’s dominated by gorgeous patterned fabrics, fresh styles and a variety of new lengths and details in inspired fabrics. The Prep Camp opens with explorer-ready modern flak, pocketed field jackets paired with modern chinos and cargos. Modern check shirts are the basic essential while camouflage prints are introduced as a pattern on a variety of key pieces. Khaki is plentiful, but with a dusting of canyon orange or hazy yellow for ‘stand-out’ in any weekend activity. Then, the Safari dress and slim chinos take centre stage, ideal for a scenic lunchtime meander while button front skirts swish paired with that classic: the cool, white shirt. Those ever-important details are also seen - leather, suede or canvas detailing, bungee cord pulls and flashes of playful internal linings serve to close this look with a premium finishing touch.

The cosmopolitan Upper East Side hipsters in their ‘down time’ are the second fashion group’s inspiration, aptly named Prep City. Clean and sporty, neat sweaters begin draped casually over shoulders as the eye is drawn down to new, slimmer ankle-length chino or denim. Shirts mixing blue patterns are then paired with the neutral-toned, iconic Spring Blazer. Ready-for-weather surprises see Trenches, Pea-coats and the modern Anorak, under which neat sweaters with block detailing nestle. Stripes are the key story of this delivery which spread across knits, sweaters and shorts. Modern and urban pieces in chambray and leather are featured in this delivery and color-wise grounded in spring neutrals, and indigo blues with fresh jade green highlights. The Prep Weekend continues the journey towards summer with sun bleached colors paired with fresh white. Colors are the statement of the season showing their full spectrum in chinos shorts, shirts and t-shirt. Relaxed, easy styles simply made for that beach are reflected in short shorts or bolder length Bermuda. For dipping toes into the sea, try Spring Break sundresses in fresh hand-painted patterns that drape alluringly around ankles or thighs. Take a browse through preppy or washed out stripes on pale fabrics for bold statements, while fresh madras shirts reminiscent of morning eclectic market stall shopping finish this collection.

《6 Minutes @ Yael Sonia》

Yael Sonia, a contemporary jewellery designer inspired by children's toys and a child's expression when fascinated by an exciting new toy and her kinetic jewellery design comprised of rolling spheres, swinging pendulums and spinning tops. These "Spinning Wheel" jewelries had won her numerous international awards including the Tahitian Pearl Trophy Awards from the Perpetual Motion Collection. Her ingenious designs  are timeless and her work was featured in world-renowned shows and galleries in Brazil, Germany, France, Spain, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the United States. Sonia brought along her collection to Hong Kong for her mini debut exhibition <Art In Motion> in ame Gallery recently and she told mylifestylenews her passion involved in jewellery designing......

I grew up in Brazil and living between New York, Paris and Sao Paulo.  Our showroom and studio is in Sao Paulo and I have my family in Paris and my shop in New York. These 3 cities gives me different energy and different cultural perspectives.

I like to make jewellery that comes alive. When you wear it, it gives you joy and blissfulness, in the same time you can play with it. Like my Perpetual Motion Collection in which it becomes my signature design, the melodic sounds are perpetually emitted when the gemstones and pearls meet the art of handcrafted 18K gold structure. The changeable and addable color stones in the wheel make it fun yet playful. It makes the jewellery more alive and after all, jewelery is like a toy for woman to enjoy playing with it.

<Art In Motion> is my mini debut exhibition in Hong Kong. In the exhibition you may see the <Perpetual Motion Collection> - the kinetic movement of children’s whirling top toys inspired for Spinning Top where the exclusively cut gemstones are continually in motion creating optical and audio delights for the individuals visualizing, hearing and experiencing the splendor of each of the pieces as they “come to life.” The fun part for this collection is when you move, it moves with you. It gives you a lot of good childhood memories.

You will see lots of fun and colorful large Brazilian gemstones in The  <Rock Collection> , the contrast of the large, irregularly faceted, or roughly “hammered” Brazilian gemstones with traditionally calibrated faceted diamonds and other gemstones results in the good-natured exuberance of the collection. The inspiration comes from a woman’s desire for the “rock” on her finger, the traditional diamond engagement ring. These playful rings can be worn alone, in pairs or in trios - whatever one’s heart desires.

The <Deco Collection> inspired by the bold minimalism of Art Deco, it is an extension of the Rock Collection. The clean lines of the gold structures support the pure geometry of the Brazilian gemstones, creating an optical sense of depth.

Jewellery relates to fashion easily, a collaborating with other fashion house would be ideal in the future but not with any other existing jewellery brands.

I like chunky jewellery, it expresses a person's personality by wearing them. It shows the person's character and style and catch other attention simultaneously.

I will stick with my own design philosophy and continue to put in the similar elements into it. The design would be identical, the wearer having fun by wearing it.

Women who wear my jewellery are confident and has a strong personality yet sophisticated. Knowing what they want and appreciate the know-how of a piece of jewellery being made.

I like to see stars like Tilda Swinton, Kristin Scott Thomas, Emma Thompson (who already came to our store) to wear my jewellery. They character they have with them bring out the best of the jewellery.

My ideal living lifestyle is to be able to travel around and going to new places that I have not been(Hong Kong is one of them), being able to do things that I like to get involved with. I think that is ideal for me.
